Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received the B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in the fields of theater, film and TV. Her acting career started in the theatre. Later, she was a part of numerous television shows in independent films, mainstream and movies. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received a variety of nominations and awards, including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her professional acting debut with the character Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In her film career, she is best known for her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her role as a regular in the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
